Because Jodo Shinsu, or Pure Land, is apparently the most commonly practiced form of Buddhism in Japan, and Pure Land is about being reborn into a "Pure Land" after your physical body ceases to exist. So, I thought, why not invent a subsect called "Pure Dream Land," which is about getting a taste of Pure Land when you go to sleep during your life here? But I don't know anything, so...
